Sales Engineer/Facilitator

Overview

Sales Engineer/Facilitator is an independent, technically sound professional offering a persuasive, persistent and confident attitude to build new client relationships in the precision sheet metal market.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver new sale applications and improvements to existing applications, that are used by PM engineering team for project management.

  • Develop an intimate working knowledge and understanding of PM’s technically sophisticated processing capabilities and how this can translate into improving the customer’s product while meeting the required specifications.

  • Create and maintain strong working relationships across teams and across sites, thereby ensuring a positive and productive culture of teamwork.

  • Assist in making informed build/buy decisions, and bring clarity of process and clear communications when evaluating, rating, and selecting commercial applications.

  • Work as a technical and project leader, providing guidance to project teams to ensure that results are meeting key functional, performance and scalability requirements that are delivered on schedule.

  • Help customers set their business and development goals, follow up regularly to ensure they are on track to meet these goals, provide regular feedback on performance reviews.

  • Mentor and coach customers and internal teams in their ongoing technical and business skills development; identify training needs and other areas where team members need support.

  • Participate in and lead requirements gathering and system design meetings.

  • Prepare final requirements and design specification with proposals for system designs.

  • Work closely with Production Supervisors and  with Engineering staff to clarify requirements, recommendations, designs, etc., and then manage team members to deliver solutions that meet the requirements.

  • Establish future plans and schedules; details, assign and track progress on tasks necessary for implementation.

  • Manage priorities and schedules to make the best use of available resources, and develop, maintain, and analyze metrics to measure and improve the team's efficiency and impact.

  • Reports directly to the Production Manager.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's or Collage degree in business, engineering, or related discipline required.

  • A minimum of five years of progressive field sales experience.

  • Excellent initiative, and interpersonal communications skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence the market at key levels.

  • Ability to travel 30% of the work time.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and convincingly.

  • Proven organization skills. In particular, ability to work concurrently on numerous tasks, successfully prioritizing and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Well-developed leadership capabilities, with the ability to build and maintain a positive and dynamic environment.

  • Design software proficiency, particularly with Solid works a definite asset.
